About Me
My name is Shane Kelly, and I am a 22 year old videographer based in Massachusetts. I earned my degree in Digital Media Production from New England Tech, and I currently work for Ocean State Media (Rhode Island PBS), along with my independent freelance work. I have completed various passion projects, short films, and edits based around the things that I love, whether that be a specific genre of short film, or recording amazing music or sports. I love to make projects that make viewers think, I love to build projects around music, I love to use color to enhance the feel of all of my work. I’ve worked on these projects both independently, and with a crew of people who share my passion. My entire life, I have always loved expressing myself creatively, whether that’s through music, writing, or video. I’m truly passionate about making sure everything I touch is as good as it can possibly be.
Equipment
I shoot mainly on a Canon Rebel Ti5 as of right now with either a 50mm prime lens or 18-55mm zoom lens. I have experience shooting with a variety of Canon cameras such as the R5, R6 and R50. I also have experience shooting with Panasonic and Sony cameras. I have a lot of experience with studio equipment, I have shot with Black Magic studio cameras and operated Black Magic switcher boards. I use many different LED and soft box lights on top of having experience operating studio lighting boards. I edit mainly on Adobe Premiere Pro with experience in After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator as well. I am familiar with Avid Media Composer and have experience with audio programs such as Pro Tools and Audition.
Past Experience
I have been a part of Ocean State Media since December of 2024 and have been part of both the production team, and the engineering team. I have helped produced many in studio shows such as A Lively Experiment, Story in the Public Square, and Rhode Island Weekly. I have worked to produce high quality content for clients, I have shot and edited down live performances at The Courthouse and Rascals for bands “Sir Paul” and “Angelz Fury.” I have edited podcast episodes for students and for groups such as The Special Olympics. I have worked on many short films and stories solo and as part of a big group. I have made these projects as both part of class, and as passion projects.
